Three post-doctoral fellowships covering complete tuition and a salary of up to $20,000 are available for recent PhDs in health sciences who enroll in the Biotech MBA program at SFU Business.
Funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research (CIHR), the fellowships are intended to encourage recent PhD scientists in health research to learn more about how to commercialize health research. The CIHR program's long-term goal is to develop a cadre of scientifically knowledgeable entrepreneurs and venture capitalists.
The biotechnology MBA at SFU's Segal Graduate School of Business is one of only four Canadian university programs awarded these prestigious fellowships. The SFU Business Biotech MBA, offered as a full-time or part-time program, delves into the complexities of the ethical, regulatory and business development issues in today's biotechnology industry.
“SFU's biotechnology MBA has been a resounding success for our students, many of whom have gone on to leadership positions in the biotechnology community,” says Ernie Love, dean of SFU Business. “This CIHR funding award is recognition of the quality and applicability of our programs.”
Three separate CIHR fellowships are available, covering full tuition plus an annual salary of $20,000/year for full-time students or $10,000/year for part-time students.
