Students from Simon Fraser University's Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue are pulling together all the cultural, environmental and economic pieces of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in a public dialogue, A 2010-Piece Puzzle, to be held Wednesday, March 14, 9 am - 4:30 pm at SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 West Hastings St., Vancouver.

"We are inviting all members of the community to discuss the potential long-term affects of the 2010 Games," says communication student Jamie Frezell. "The focus is on stimulating dialogue to help shape lasting legacies for our region."

Organized by the 17 Semester in Dialogue students, this free event will use dialogue, activities and performances to ignite thought-provoking and imaginative collaboration on topics related to 2010. "The objective is to build synergy among community stakeholders by providing them with tools to create lasting Olympic and Paralympic legacies and put together the pieces of the Olympic Games puzzle," says Frezell.

SFU developed the Undergraduate Semester in Dialogue to inspire students with a sense of civic responsibility, encourage their passion to improve Canadian society, and develop innovative intellectual tools for effective problem-solving. Each semester, students benefit from an original and intensive learning experience by using dialogue to focus on specific public issues. The theme of the current semester is Going For Gold: Leveraging the impacts of Olympic fever. Students admitted to the undergraduate dialogue program have demonstrated leadership, academic achievement and experience in creating community solutions.
