A pyramid of laser light will set the night sky glowing over Burnaby Mountain when Simon Fraser University celebrates its 40th anniversary, beginning at about 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9.
Four 7,000-watt Xenon search lights will be placed at each corner of the roof of the Academic Quadrangle on the main campus. The lights will be aimed to form a pyramid, with the apex approximately 900 metres above sea level. As Burnaby Mountain is the highest point in the Lower Mainland, the lights will be widely visible around Vancouver, weather permitting.
The lights, installed by Port Coquitlam's Everylite Technical Service Ltd., will be illuminated from Sept. 9 to 16, and again from Sept. 30 to Oct. 9.
