SFU Surrey named one of its four 100-seat theatres the Now Newspaper Lecture Theatre in a brief ceremony on October 18 to acknowledge a gift from The Now Newspaper Group, valued at $150,000. It will be used to help SFU advertise programs and opportunities to the Surrey community.

Says Gary Hollick, publisher of the Now Newspaper, "Having a major educational institution here in Surrey is important for the community, but only if people know about the opportunities. The Now Newspaper Group is delighted to be able to partner with SFU to help them reach out to residents of the Fraser Valley."

Says SFU president Michael Stevenson, "This partnership will help SFU achieve its mission of improving access to education for Surrey and its communities."
