SFU Business is introducing a flexible on-line option in its successful Management of Technology (MOT) MBA program for students who wish to work and study at the same time.

Western Canada’s first MBA for the high technology industry, the MOT MBA provides high tech workers with the knowledge and credentials to move beyond project work and into management positions within their industry. The online option complements the existing full-time and part-time programs, which are delivered in traditional classroom settings.

"Students are telling us that they require even more flexibility," says Tom Brown, executive director of the program. "And we’re discovering that online education is gaining acceptance among students."

Online students will follow the same high quality course content as the fulltime program, with the same top caliber professors providing the instruction. "Using online collaboration tools, they’ll work in teams to complete their assignments," says Brown, "so that they too have the benefit of learning from each other as well as from the faculty."

Brown says the online format will also make the program more accessible to students outside the Lower Mainland and will create an opportunity for educational partnerships with other institutions in Canada and around the world.

Deadline for applications is June 2003.
