BMO Harris Private Banking has joined SFU Business’ national Global Asset and Wealth Management business council. Established in January 2001, the council’s members rank among Canada’s top banks, investment firms and financial services organizations. Its mandate is to provide curriculum guidance, mentorship and internships to the Global Asset and Wealth Management MBA program.
BMO Harris Private Banking, a member of BMO Financial Group, offers integrated wealth management solutions to high net worth families and individuals. With offices in 17 locations across Canada, BMO Harris Private Banking offers investment management, platinum banking and estate and trust services and additional specialized services to its clients.
The new SFU MBA program, launched in September 2002, teaches financial services professionals the more sophisticated aspects of investment management. They acquire first class technical skills in financial theory, asset allocation and security selection but also develop the softer, 'architectural' skills associated with investment counseling, estate planning and client relationship management.
"Keeping ahead of the curve is vital in any business, not just in wealth management. Through our participation in this council, BMO Harris Private Banking hopes to help some of the talented students in the Simon Fraser University MBA program to stay on top of the trends in the financial services sector," said Terry Jenkins, senior vice-president and executive managing director, BMO Harris Private Banking.
Peter Klein, academic director for the Global Asset and Wealth MBA program, is pleased to welcome BMO Harris Private Banking to the Council. "BMO Harris Private Banking has a long-standing reputation for excellence in the high net worth market and we welcome their support."
