Coming (pretty) soon to Simon Fraser University Vancouver is the Weekend University. The new initiative will offer its first array of courses in January 2008 in the evenings and on the weekend, but now is the time to ask questions, consider options and start the application process, says Yvonne Tabin, SFU’s continuing studies program director responsible for the new credit program. "We expect to be fully up and running in the Fall semester 2008." There are many people, for all kinds of reasons, who are not able to attend classes during week days, she notes. "Some need only a few courses - perhaps one or two - to complete undergraduate degrees they started years ago. SFU has a great tradition of finding ways to make university education more accessible. The Weekend University is one more opportunity."

Tabin will be at SFU Vancouver’s Information Day on Thursday, Sept. 14,

11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. SFU Vancouver is at 515 West Hastings St.
