Apple’s latest toy
Talk about all-in-one: Apple’s latest product is a device that can play music, take digital pictures, surf the internet and run the Mac computer operating system. It’s another example of how far and how fast technology is pushing everyday convenience. SFU communication professor Richard Smith can look at the new iPhone and how consumers are adapting to technology progress.

Cleaning up Stanley Park
In the wake of yet another windstorm, officials are carrying on with their assessments of damage and how to best restore Stanley Park. SFU biologist Alton Harestad has not seen the damage first-hand but says while there are sure to be effects on the local wildlife, it’s not likely that any species will be so strongly affected that they will be lost from the park (except perhaps the Johnson's Hairstreak butterfly – the park has one of the few known Canadian populations). Abundances of species will likely change, but Harestad says the most primary issue is to determine “what we want from the park” – objectives that will help the city determine how it wants to restore and manage it.
