Issue: Three strikes and you're dangerous
Criminals who tally up three convictions for violent crimes could be declared dangerous offenders, under a proposed bill being contemplated by Ottawa. SFU criminology professor Neil Boyd is an expert on violent crime and criminals and can look at the implications of the proposal.

Idea: Fred Wah named writer-in-residence
On Wednesday, Sept. 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., SFU's English department will host a free public reading by Governor-General award winning poet Fred Wah at the SFU Vancouver campus, 515 W. Hasting Street. Wah, SFU's third writer-in-residence since 2004, will be available to mentor the Lower Mainland's community of emerging writers until May 2007.
