Roy Miki is about to receive his second major award this month — SFU’s 2006 Nora and Ted Sterling prize in support of controversy. The Governor-General award-winning poet and SFU English professor will receive the award at a free public event on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue. The award pays tribute to those who question conventional wisdom. Miki is cited for his work as a key force behind the Japanese Canadian redress movement.
