Computing science students Jen Fernquist (left) and Angelica Lim and recently received major bursaries acknowledging their efforts to recruit more students into the field of computing science.

Both the 2006 Canadian Federation of University Women, West Vancouver group, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers awarded the two women bursaries for their success in pre-college recruitment.

Lim and Fernquist helped to found Women in Computing Science (WICS) which offers support for women in computing science at SFU, and ChicTech, a competition in which teams of high-school girls build websites for non-profit organizations.
