New B.C. government legislation limiting smoking took effect March 31 at all SFU campuses. The new laws prohibit smoking in enclosed spaces such as Convocation Mall, covered walkways, parking lots and all transit shelters.

In addition, new university policy prohibits smoking within 10 metres of any building. All tobacco sales and advertising are also banned on campus.
