Can you give the gift of life?
May 3, 2007
SFU geography student James Erlandsen, diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in February, desperately needs a compatible bone marrow donor. Since he is of Chinese and Caucasian heritage, his bone marrow is rare. He has no siblings, so his best chance of a match would be from other Eurasian donors. His cousin, SFU alumna Hillary Wong, hopes that healthy SFU students, staff and faculty between the ages of 17-50, and particularly those of Eurasian descent, will consider helping Erlandsen by registering with the Canadian Blood Services' Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
