Young entrepreneurs will benefit from $400,000 in federal funding to support a new student-business incubator program at SFU’s Surrey campus.

The money from Western Economic Diversification Canada will finance industry mentoring, small business consulting, entrepreneurship training, capital options for seed funding and access to on-campus office space. The program will enroll both full and part-time students.

"SFU’s Surrey campus is an ideal location for this innovative program which crosses academic disciplines," says Surrey campus executive director Joanne Curry. "This program and the support of the local business and financial community will help us to nurture knowledge-based new ventures for the benefit of the B.C. economy."
