President Michael Stevenson’s employee appreciation barbecue at SFU’s Burnaby campus last year was such a success he’s doing it again—Wednesday, July 25, 12–2 pm—and staff and faculty from all three campuses are invited. "In recognition of the tremendous ongoing effort of all SFU faculty and staff in making SFU one of the finest comprehensive universities in Canada, I have decided that the barbecue should be repeated," says Stevenson. That means food, fun and relaxation in the centre of the AQ by the reflecting pond. Lunch will include hamburgers, veggie burgers or hot dogs, chips, ice cream, pop and water, along with live music and a prize raffle.

"This is an opportunity for us to socialize with old and new friends and meet other members of the university community," says Stevenson. "Bring a blanket, hat and sunscreen and enjoy a hopefully sunny lunchtime get-together." Parking in all B lots will be free for employees from Vancouver and Surrey from 11:30 pm–2:30 pm. Be sure to sign in and pick up your raffle ticket and food voucher at a check-in table. RSVP by email no later than 4:30 pm, Friday, July 13 at
