Criminology professor Raymond Corrado, linguistics professor Trude Heift and assistant professor of English Peter Dickinson are this year’s dean’s medalists in the faculty of arts and social sciences. The award recognizes their outstanding research, teaching and service.

Corrado, a highly rated teacher and an international authority in the areas of youth justice and terrorism, is involved in a number of committees at SFU as well as in the larger community and frequently provides his expertise to the media.

Heift is a researcher with an international reputation in both applied and computational linguistics and will complete a busy three-year stint as associate dean of the faculty this August.

While Dickinson receives a medal in the junior category, he has already served as associate chair of the English department and has developed and taught a number of new courses which consistently earn rave reviews from students.
