SFU Business kicks off a new speaker series Sept. 17 at the Surrey campus. Boyd Cohen, faculty member and green entrepreneur, will discuss Sustainability Meets Entrepreneurship, Web 2.0 and Mobile Applications.

Cohen, founder of the 3rdwhale.com website, launched a global competition on Earth Day (Apr. 22) to find "the greenest person on the planet". The winner, to be announced Sept. 24 at SFU’s sustainability festival, gets bragging rights and a pod of whales adopted in his or her name.

Cohen is an assistant professor at SFU Business and is also affiliated with SFU’s Centre for Sustainable Community Development.

In addition to 3rdwhale.com, he has founded or co-founded several sustainability companies and he is currently launching a GPS-based service from 3rdwhale for the iPhone, called Luna.

The speaker series is bringing in some of B.C.’s most innovative sustainable entrepreneurs to share their experiences. For more info, visit www.business.sfu.ca/sustainability.
