Vancouver financial planner and SFU guest lecturer, Jim Rogers, has been appointed president of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), an international association of the world’s top life insurance and financial services professionals.

Rogers, who guest lectures at the Segal Graduate School of Business and also holds an MBA from SFU, is only the second Canadian in it’s 80-year history to head the organization, which includes about 35,000 members from 78 countries and territories.

The chair of Rogers Group Financial, a 51-person, independent financial advisory and investment counselling firm in Vancouver, Rogers has been a MDRT member for 34 years.

As MDRT president, Rogers will spend the next 12 months travelling the world to ensure that the organization’s members are at the top of the industry in their respective countries. He will also look at ways to support formal education, make better use of electronic communication and keep current with members' needs.
