The calendar software, customized by Josh Laidlaw of SFU’s Design Group, is available free of charge to SFU faculties, schools, departments and the individual campuses. Using a simple online event-entry form, anyone with an SFU email address can submit an item to the administrator, and that administrator can vet the item and manage the posting.

Submissions to the main SFU events calendar will be considered only if they come from an SFU e-mail address with, as a contact, a member of the university’s faculty, staff or student body.

Posted events must be organized by SFU units under the name and auspices of SFU, and be at an SFU campus. Or, if off-campus, the event must be organized or sponsored by SFU. Please note that all calendars—including departmental calendars—will be visible to the general public.

To launch a departmental calendar, send an email to Steve Ray of Public Affairs and Media Relations will get back to you and help set you up.
He will need from you a permanent SFU e-mail address for your calendar’s administrator. Submissions for your calendar will go to that address.

Ray can also provide help and advice, including detailed information on how to set up a calendar in a Word document. Just put ‘calendar’ somewhere in the e-mail subject line.
