As usual during the annual Winter holiday closure, building temperatures in many areas at the Burnaby campus will be turned down to conserve energy. Those who intend to work at the campus during the closure and require heating should contact Facilities Management.

Complete the department’s heating/ventilation request form online at: http://cgi.sfu.ca/%7Eenergy/cgi-bin/co_hvreq.php, email your request to fmserv@sfu.ca or telephone ext. 23582; fax 24521.

The department expects a great number of requests so please expedite the process by ensuring that all of the following information is provided and complete:

•    Dates: (expected date of presence)
•    Times: (expected time of presence)
•    Building Name
•    Room Number
•    Phone Number of Contact Person

Requests should be made by authorized persons only, i.e. staff, faculty and employees. The department says failure to provide all of the above information prior to Dec. 7, 2007 may result in curtailment of heat to the affected area during the holiday closure.

Buildings not normally subject to temperature set-backs are not affected by the annual closure. They include:

•    The South Science Building
•    Research labs in the Shrum Science Centre
•    The Childcare Centre
•    Townhouses & Residences
•    The Diamond Alumni Centre
•    TASC1 & TASC2
•    ASCC1

Other buildings such as ACF, the greenhouse and the Contemporary Arts trailers, which are on local temperature controls are encouraged to participate with the temperature set-back. Facilities Management will assist in setting this up, as well as resetting to normal operations prior to occupancy in January.
