Throughout his life, Wosk received many honours for his exceptional philanthropy, including the Order of Canada and the Order of British Columbia. In 1996, SFU recognized Wosk's accomplishments when it awarded him an honorary degree.
The SFU building which bears his name, the Morris J. Wosk centre for dialogue, has become one of Canada's most important meeting places for national and international gatherings, a centre which strives to foster the best in human dialogue and interaction. It stands as a fitting tribute to a man who devoted his life to improving the lives of others.
An impoverished Russian émigré who arrived in Vancouver with his family in 1928 at the age of 12, Wosk's life is an example of what hard work and a generous heart can achieve. He will be greatly missed by his friends at SFU.
