Dare to Care, an award-winning DVD that examines the purpose of education with an emphasis on looking beyond academics to consider the whole child and its place in the community, will premiere Dec. 6, 4-7 pm at Halpern Centre, Burnaby campus. A joint project between the Faculty of Education’s Centre for Education, Law and Society, and Life is Short Entertainment, the DVD describes the role that ethical caring can play in schools and the wider community. In September, it won the award for best documentary under 30 minutes at the Global Community Film Festival in Toronto. The National Film Board has picked up worldwide distribution rights.
