Biology grad student wins SWAAC award

Biology PhD student Jennifer Sunday has earned a 2010 award of merit worth $2,500 from the Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada (SWAAC).
The annual awards are given to female grad students demonstrating outstanding university or community leadership while maintaining exemplary grades.
Sunday’s research focuses on evolution, marine ecology and potential population adaptation to environmental change.
She served two years as an SFU biology graduate-studies committee member and graduate caucus organizer, helped organize the Canadian Society of Evolution and Ecology and served two years on the Western Society of Naturalists student committee. www.swaac.ca
