The Clan football program added three more players this month to its list of team members selected in the Canadian Football League draft, bringing the total to 189—more than any other university since 1965. The Toronto Argonauts selected receiver Spencer Watt 18th overall (third round) and the Montreal Alouettes drafted linebacker Brian Ridgeway 39th (fifth round), while the B.C. Lions picked receiver Matt Chapdelaine 42nd (sixth round). Chapdelaine is the son of Lions offensive coordinator and SFU grad Jacques Chapdelaine. SFU also holds the record for most first-round draft selections (31) and first overall selections (five).
