An International Business Review study has ranked SFU Business as one of the world’s most prolific institutions in the study of international business. The prestigious journal ranked SFU 38th out of more than 1,200 institutions worldwide, based on the total amount of academic articles (almost 4,000) published between 1998–2008. SFU was one of only two Canadian universities in the top 40, with the University of Western Ontario’s Ivey School of Business ranking fifth. The top-four ranked schools were the University of South Carolina, University of Pennsylvania, Chinese University of Hong Kong and Michigan State University. SFU Business dean Daniel Shapiro told Business in Vancouver such rankings help boost SFU’s standing, “helping attract visiting scholars and students at the graduate level.”
