This year’s annual Campus Giving campaign to fund student endowments raised $212,222 from faculty, staff and retirees—almost twice as much as last year’s $110,266.

The donations triggered a further $85,000 in matching funds from SFU to new and existing student endowments.

“With matching funds, we have raised almost $300,000 this year, which will generate almost $12,000 a year, in perpetuity, for students,” says Wanda Dekleva, director of campus giving.

Dekleva says this year’s donations included funds earmarked for new endowments in statistics and actuarial sciences, the Faculty of Communication, Art and Technology, and varsity golf.

The campaign co-chairs this year were economics professor Gord Meyers and physics professor Barbara Frisken.
