Jonathan Newman’s hands flew as he stacked and unstacked pyramids of 12 cups in a pre-determined sequence in a matter of seconds. He was one of 23 children who participated in a 30-minute sport-stacking relay event on Nov. 18 at the Simon Fraser University daycare centre on the Burnaby campus. The children in the SFU Childcare Society’s 5-to-8-year-old program (Crackers) and 9-12-year-old program (Voyageurs) helped to break the Guinness world record for the most people sport-stacking at multiple locations in one day: 316,757 sport stackers at 1,627 schools and organizations in 25 countries.
