SFU’s Learning Strategies Group (LSG) is among 17 Canadian educational organizations to be recognized for excellence in learning by the Canadian Council on Learning’s "Sharing the Flame" project. The project honours innovative and effective adult, work, health and aboriginal learning programs. LSG was acknowledged for a custom suite of post-secondary credit courses it developed for Teck, a B.C. resource company. Over the past 13 years, the courses have evolved into a customized graduate diploma in business administration (GDBA) and an executive MBA program. More than 250 employees in nine different North American locations have taken the courses, which have also been offered in various forms to other resource firms.
