SFU Student Services has declared January "Leadership Opportunities Month" to recognize current student leaders and kick off the recruiting cycle for some 250 new leadership volunteers.
More than 800 student leaders—including 600 volunteers—work in Student Services and partner programs, as residence community advisors, orientation leaders, international mentors and peer educators.
"Many of the programs and services we offer would not be possible without these students," says Tim Rahilly, senior director of student and community life.
The month’s special events include the annual leadership conference Jan. 24 and a series of workshops.
