SFU continues to attract more international students. This spring’s figures reveal a 47-per-cent increase in new international student intake compared to spring 2008. For the fiscal year ’08-09, it represents a 39-per-cent increase in new international students compared to ’07-08. International students now represent 9.2 per cent of all new undergraduate students, just shy of the university’s 10-per-cent goal. While the enrolment figures for all new (domestic and international) students admitted in spring 2009 is down by 8.6 per cent over spring 2008, total (new and continuing) 2009 spring enrolment increased by 3.7 per cent compared to spring 2008 due to a higher number of continuing student enrolments.
