March is Earth Month at SFU—a month-long university-wide celebration promoting earth- and people-friendly lifestyles. Planned events include a campus-wide Green Living challenge. Sustainability ambassadors are challenging students, staff and faculty to "choose to re-use" for the month by switching to one of five disposable-free actions for reducing disposable waste:
- Use a reusable water bottle instead of buying bottled water.
- Use a reusable coffee mug instead of buying coffee in a throw-away cup.
- Bring your lunch in a reusable container instead of eating out.
- When dining in, eschew Styrofoam or plastic containers.
- Ask for china when ordering catering for an event or meeting.
