Climate change is responsible for a lot of things. One of them is the rapid global move toward ‘greentech’, the development of technologies and enterprises that create positive environmental impact.

"Greentech has tremendous investment potential," says Mike Volker, director of SFU’s Venture Incubator. "There is a growing contingent of researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and industry leaders in this area and they need a place to connect. We are establishing the Vancouver Greentech Forum to make that happen."

Vancouver’s mayor, Gregor Robertson, will launch the VGF Forum on Thursday, March 5, 5:30–7:30 pm at SFU’s Segal Graduate School of Business, 500 Granville St. This inaugural program includes Paul Richardson, president, Renewal2 and presentations by Habitat Enterprises and 3rd Whale.com.

The forums are free, but space is limited. Registration: www.sfu.ca/time. Sessions (the second Thursday of the month) will offer speakers, pitches and networking. Contact: mike_volker@sfu.ca, 778.782.7977
