International researchers who study walking will demonstrate their insights and inventions—from walking robots to robotic limbs—at a demonstration today, Thursday, June 11, 3:30 p.m. on a runway outside the locomotion lab (Applied Sciences building, room K8501.)

It’s the culmination of the four-day Dynamic Walking conference. "Watching the creations in motion is one of the highlights," says SFU assistant professor Max Donelan, who will have on hand Bionic Power’s bionic energy harvester, a knee-brace-like device that draws energy from walking.

Also featuring a bi-powered, four-legged ‘biped’ with no knees, a double amputee who builds and will feature his prostheses, and a two-legged walking robot from the Netherlands. See: www.dynamicwalking.org
