BC Hydro gets first McKinstry award

BC Hydro, which has women in six of its 10 senior management team positions, is the first recipient of SFU’s new Nancy McKinstry award for leadership in gender diversity. McKinstry, now retired, is a former vice-president of Odlum Brown Limited and past chair of the SFU board of directors and of the Investment Dealers Association of B.C. She is also a founder and past chair of the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, which helps women attain educational and leadership goals. She holds numerous honours for industry and community involvement, including the Order of Canada and an honorary SFU degree. Helia Baradarani, an SFU Business Management of Technology MBA grad student, receives the first $1500 SFU Nancy McKinstry graduate scholarship for leadership in gender diversity.
