A 10 for Ten?
October 22, 2009
Third-year kinesiology student Jeremy Ten is a serious contender for a spot on Skate Canada’s senior men’s figure skating team at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Ten hopes that his serendipitous last name brings him some scoring luck.
The national junior men’s figure skating champion trains for 20 to 25 hours a week on ice, in the gym and in the dance studio. He aims to score as close as possible to a perfect 10 at two upcoming international competitions in November. A 10 or close to it will help him earn a competitor’s spot at the Games.
"It would be a dream come true to compete in front of a hometown audience right in my backyard," says Ten.
