Communication co-op student Alicia Doo, SFU’s United Way sponsored representative, peruses some of the thousands of books, DVDs and CDs for sale at the upcoming campus book sales Nov. 17 at the Vancouver campus and Nov. 17-19 at the Burnaby campus in the north AQ. Last year, the SFU community raised $182,000 for the United Way of the Lower Mainland; this year the goal is $185,000. Employee pledge forms will be distributed this month. There are also bake sales at the Vancouver campus Nov. 20 and the Burnaby campus Nov. 24. An online art auction will run in mid-November. For more information visit www.sfu.ca/unitedway/.

I was wondering if I can donate books for this event. I am a recent grad from SFU majoring in English and was looking to get rid of all of books that I had stored over the years.

All book donations are welcome. You could bring your books to the campus sale November 18 or 19 or, if that's not convenient timing, deliver them to the library receiving door at the back of the library to be stored for next year's sale.

Hi:

I donated used textbooks to SFU (for United Way) before. However, I had to telephone a person at the library before bringing the books. Could you let me have a contact person's email or telephone number? I am in the process of organizing used textbooks for delivery to SFU, for United Way.

Thank you.
