SFU moved up to a tie for first, in the 2008 Maclean’s rankings of universities. Simon Fraser shared first place among 11 "comprehensive universities" with the University of Victoria, last year’s winner. Waterloo stayed in third place, Guelph in fourth and Memorial and New Brunswick were again tied for fifth. Among 15 big "medical doctoral" universities, McGill was No. 1 again. Queen’s and Toronto tied for second. UBC slipped to fourth place from a tie with Queen’s for second in 2007. Among 21 smaller "primarily undergraduate" schools, Mount Allison remained in first place. UNBC moved up to second from fourth and Acadia placed third, down from a first-place tie with Mount Allison in 2007. See also ‘Times top 200’.
