SFU communication students have collaborated with university health sciences researchers and others to produce two public-service videos to raise awareness among local Punjabi farm workers about how to safely wash their clothes after using pesticides. Entitled Wash With Care 1 and 2, The Bollywood-style videos feature SFU’s NSM Bhangra dance team. Using Punjabi song and dance, the videos explain that clothing worn in fields where pesticides are used, are a major source of indoor pesticide contamination. The videos are airing on Shaw TV’s Multicultural Channel and will be presented at Lower Mainland Sikh temples in November.
