Truax solo retrospective
November 4, 2010
After 40 years of composing electroacoustic music, professor Barry Truax will hold two solo retrospective concerts in Vancouver this month featuring eight-channel surround sound with a mixture of tape works and live performance. On Sunday, Nov. 14 at 8 pm he’ll present old favourites from each decade at the Fei and Milton Wong Experimental Theatre at SFU’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts. And on Nov. 19 at 8 pm at the Scotiabank Dance Centre he’ll present more recent pieces, including his award-winning granular synthesis piece, Riverrun, which won the 1991 Magisterium Award, one of the world’s most prestigious electronic music awards.
