Distinguished community leader

Vancouver philanthropist Michael Audain (above), chair of Polygon Homes Ltd., is the 2008 winner of the SFU President’s Distinguished Community Leadership Award. He will be honoured at a dinner on April 16 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Vancouver. Audain’s significant contributions to the B.C. and Canadian arts communities include not only his time and expertise but also donations through the Audain Foundation for Visual Arts to SFU Contemporary Arts, the Vancouver Art Gallery and the National Gallery of Canada, among others. He is chair of the Vancouver Art Gallery Foundation, member of the Arts Council of British Columbia, founding member of the Bill Reid Foundation, former president of the Vancouver Art Gallery and the Urban Development Institute.
