SFU running sensation Emily Mondor has signed a three-year deal with Adidas International, a move which means giving up her spot on the SFU track and field team.
Mondor, a middle distance runner, leaves the SFU track and field program as the two-time National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA) cross country champion and reigning 1,500-metre champion. Adidas approached Mondor after she placed second in the women's segment of the North American 5-km championship at Chula Vista, California.
The deal will allow her to travel extensively to international meets. “My relationship with Adidas will help me take the next step towards reaching my international goals,” says Mondor.
Mondor will continue to study toward an undergraduate degree in biological sciences at SFU.
