As compensation for the delay in its 11th annual Polar Plunge
because of a 25-day film shoot, SFU's engineering student society
received a $500 contribution from the Hollywood filmmakers. The
draining of the pond resulted in the Polar Plunge, which raises
money for the Variety Club telethon, being delayed for two weeks.
The student society raised $2,400 this year, their most successful
fundraiser in four years.
