Patrick Lussier
Patrick Lussier joins the department of criminology as a tenure track assistant professor. Most recently a sessional lecturer at the University of Montreal, Lussier earned his PhD there in 2004. His thesis examined the criminal activity of sex offenders in adulthood and the associated developmental risk factors.



Margaret MacDonald
Margaret MacDonald is a new tenure track assistant professor in the faculty of education. She was most recently an instructor at Douglas College. She holds a PhD from the University of Victoria as well a bachelor of education. Her research interests focus on children with diverse abilities, and language and literacy development.



Jeffrey McGuirk
Jeffrey McGuirk joins the physics department as a tenure track assistant professor from the University of Colorado where he held a National Research Council postdoctoral fellowship and worked in the laboratory of Nobel Laureate Eric Cornell. McGuirk, a Stanford PhD graduate, is interested in high-precision atomic physics.



Adam Oberman
Adam Oberman is a new tenure track assistant professor in the department of mathematics. A specialist in applied analysis, he was most recently an instructor at the University of Texas, Austin. He holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from the University of Toronto.



Melanie O'Neill
Melanie O'Neill joins the chemistry department as a tenure track assistant professor. A PhD from the University of Dalhousie, she was most recently a post-doctoral fellow at the California Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on biophysical and bio-organic chemistry.



Jian Pei
Jian Pei, who holds a PhD in computing science from SFU, is now a tenure track assistant professor in the school of computing science. He was most recently an assistant professor at the University of Buffalo. His research focuses on databases and data mining.
