Join the English department and writer-in-residence Daphne Marlatt for an afternoon of readings, refreshments and conversation.

The free March 30 event, to be held in the special collections division of the W.A.C Bennett library from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., will feature readings by 10 authors from the campus community and beyond.

Marlatt, who mentored more than 40 writers last year, invited SFU molecular biologist and chemist Dipankar Sen, Mette Bach, Yasser Ismail, Scott Drake, and Mary Wu to read from their fiction, and Mariner Janes, Blair Rosser, Tineke Saul, Mari Annharte-Baker and Anna Moorehouse to read their poems.

“It was very difficult to choose 10 authors from the writers I've seen since September,” says Marlatt. “Many could have been asked to read.”
