A member of the Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band, a junior section of the Simon Fraser University Pipe Band, has recovered her pipes in the nick of time.

Kirsten Mossington was facing the prospect of foregoing appearances at several solo piping and band competitions because her bag pipes had been stolen from a truck on June 19.

Rob Watt, a Coquitlam RCMP officer and the father of another band member, says thanks to recent publicity at SFU and through the media, Mossington has been reunited with her pipes.

She'll now be able to perform as planned at the B.C. Highland games on June 26 at Town Centre in Coquitlam and make her debut at the World Pipe Band championships in Scotland in mid-August.

In recent years, thieves have targeted numerous senior and junior pipe band members, often stealing their equipment on the eve of critical performances.
