Each year, SFU celebrates Remem-brance Day with a short ceremony in convocation mall.

And each year, without fail, someone from the audience approaches the ceremony organizers to tell them how much the ceremony means to them.

“The day still has particular significance to people who may have lost ancestors or relatives in the war and we shouldn't forget the significance of Nov. 11,” says Pat Kirkwood, program assistant in the ceremonies and events office.

This year's ceremony takes place Nov. 10 at 12:30 p.m. in convocation mall, where a SFU piper and the SFU choir will perform. Chancellor Milton Wong will also speak.
