Scotiabank has donated $250,000 to Simon Fraser University for the creation of an endowment fund. Income earned on the fund will finance two levels of scholarships for eligible students in the global asset and wealth management master of business administration (GAWM MBA) program at SFU.

During its first five years of development, the fund will finance one $5,000 scholarship per calendar year. The scholarship's value will increase to more than $10,000 in subsequent years. A portion of the fund's annual earned income will be reinvested in the fund.

Full-time students demonstrating academic excellence in the program will be eligible for the scholarship. Candidates with two years of professional employment experience in the financial services industry will have an edge. Award recipients will have their names inscribed on a plaque displayed in the Scotiabank room in SFU's Segal graduate school of business.
