Sugarman honoured by peers in psychology

Assistant education professor Jeff Sugarman has been elected by his peers as a fellow of the American Psychological association.

Fellows are selected for their exceptional and outstanding contributions to the research, teaching or practice of psychology.

Sugarman, who earned his PhD in the psychology of education at SFU in 1995, has been a member of the faculty of education at SFU since 1998.
His current research focuses on the development of hermeneutic psychology - hermeneutic being the art and theory of interpretation - and its implications for psychological inquiry, psychotherapy, and education.
