Graham Harrop, whose work is featured here, is one of four B.C. political cartoonists who will reveal the method behind their artistic madness during a panel discussion at SFU's first chalk talk at the Wosk Centre for Dialogue on March 11.

In the 19th century, chalk talks were lively events where political cartoonists lectured and occasionally drew cartoons on the spot.

True to that spirit, the SFU event, co-sponsored by Friends of the Library and moderated by BCTV newsman John Daly, promises to be an amusing and irreverant affair. Cartoonists Bob Krieger, Dan Murphy, and Roy Peterson, will join Harrop to reflect on their careers, their art, and their role in Canadian politics and media.

The invitation-only event will also recognize the many donors who have contributed to the success of SFU's library, which contains one of the largest collections of political cartoons in Canada in its special collections.
