Have a bare spot on your office wall that needs a picture? How about checking out the first annual art swap hosted by SFU's Burnaby campus gallery.

Laura Moodie, (above) the registrar of SFU's art collection, says there will be potentially hundreds of framed and unframed pieces - originals and prints - up for grabs. Moodie adds the popularity of the gallery's art loan program prompted her to organize a swap and open house. The gallery recently gave people, who had borrowed pieces from the gallery's collection, a chance to do a swap.

Those who took advantage of it will have first pick of art from the gallery's collection at an open house at the Burnaby campus gallery (AQ3004). The open house will be from Wednesday, July 30 to Friday, August 1, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, and open to staff and faculty at all SFU campuses.

“Those wishing to decorate their workplace with unframed art should look into having their department cover the costs of in-house matting and framing at the gallery,” advises Moodie. The gallery has an ongoing inventory list of art for those wanting to borrow pieces.
